Study: Poor Sleep Comes With a Big Price

Among senior citizens, poor sleep – think multiple interruptions per night – may raise the risk of stroke by as much as 27 percent, according to a new Canadian study of 315 adults. The thing is, that's just the latest entry into an enormous body of research that's shown insomnia can increase the risk of stroke, Alzheimer's disease, depression, heart failure, and chronic pain. If your sleep is unsatisfactory, it's a big problem. Don't just put up with it – start making these changes.
