Evidence is mounting that cannabidiol, an oil derived from marijuana, can benefit children with otherwise untreatable epileptic seizures. Two new studies have shown that "CBD" significantly reduced seizures in as many as half of children with epilepsy. What's interesting about CBD is that while it's a major component of pot, it doesn't produce a high like the drug's other prominent (and better known) chemical compound, THC. Cannabidiol is the reason many parents of children are relocating to Colorado, where recreational pot is legal and a special marijuana strain with high CBD and extremely low THC has been developed specifically to help children with the condition. |
