Study: The Plague Is Making a Comeback in America

In the United States, eleven people have been infected and four have died from the plague since April this year. The most recent death occurred in Utah, but the cases have so far appeared in seven states.

Officially called the bubonic plague and once known in medieval Europe as the Black Death, the death rate for untreated plague can be as high as 93 percent. Here’s what you need to know to cut your risk.
