News: The Fittest People in the U.S. Are…

The American College of Sports Medicine recently released a report confirming a clear trend: the healthiest U.S. residents live in the healthiest cities, Washington D.C., Minneapolis-St. Paul and San Diego being the top 3.

What makes these cities so health friendly? Researchers list several determining factors. These places have a strong urban infrastructure that provides residents with multiple opportunities to be active and eat well. They’re pedestrian friendly, have easy-to-access parks, recreation facilities, farmer’s markets, and more. See if you can take advantage of what YOUR city has to offer. If not, you can still make the most of resources at home.

The FDA recently approved 2 new prescription medications for irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhea (IBS-D). Taking Viberzi results in fewer bowel contractions, ultimately leading to less diarrhea, and Xifaxan works as an antibiotic to change the gut bacteria. Talk to your doctor about these new management options, and the ones described below too.
