News: Are You One of the 60% of Americans on Prescription Drugs?

Almost 3 in 5 American adults are taking prescription drugs, a nearly ten percent increase since 2000 and officially the highest percentage ever recorded. Why? A new study from the Journal of the American Medical Association is suggesting that this is largely because of the rise in obesity, since eight of the ten most common drugs are for hypertension, heart failure, diabetes, and other conditions that can arise from a high level of body fat.
