Study: You Should Eat Cake In Front of a Mirror

If you eat something unhealthy in front of a mirror, the food might not taste as good. That's according to a new study out of the University of Central Florida, which analysed the behavior of students who ate either chocolate cake or fruit salad in rooms with and without mirrors. "You don't want to see yourself eating unhealthy products because that does not match with standards of healthy eating," said the study author Atta Jami. That disconnect makes people feel uncomfortable – even if they don't know why – so they become likely to feel that something is "off" with the flavor of the cake. That's just one of the more unusual ways to trick yourself into losing weight – here are some more!
