From Rachel Gurevich, your About Women's Health Editor
Did you know that heart disease kills twice as many women every year than cancer? And though you may think of heart disease as a male problem, heart disease is also a serious health risk for women.

Know the Symptoms -- And Don't Minimize Them!
Symptoms of a heart attack don't always present in women the same way they do in men, making it more difficult to spot, even by your doctor. Also, women are more likely to downplay their symptoms, which means they may miss out on lifesaving treatment. Don't ignore your symptoms!

Know Your Risk for Heart Disease
If you know you're at risk for heart disease, you can take steps to get the care you need before a heart attack strikes. Some risks are controllable (like obesity), others are not (like hereditary).

    About.com

From Rachel Gurevich, your About Women's Health Editor
Yoga (or, if you will, yogahhhhhhhhh) can help you relax and distress, while also toning your body. Yoga can amazingly give you a good workout, lift your spirits, and comfort an anxious heart.

    Why Try Yoga?
Some mistakenly believe that you have to be flexible to do yoga. Not so! In fact, yoga can help you improve your flexibility. Take it from a girl who couldn't reach her toes throughout middle school, but after a couple years of yoga as an adult, could actually reach beyond them!
  • Benefits of Yoga
  • Improve Flexibility
  • Yoga for Infertility
  • Yoga for Stress
  • Yoga and Back Pain

  • Prenatal Yoga
Yoga can, with modification, be safely practiced during pregnancy. In fact, I know quite a few women who said they learned a lot about childbirth by practicing yoga. (Perhaps all that breathing practice helped!)

  • Second Trimester Yoga
  • Third Trimester Yoga

  • Yoga and Your Sex Life
They say that yoga can also improve your sex life. There are DVDs with yoga for "better sex", but any kind of yoga practice can bring benefits. One of the biggest benefits: feeling confident with your body.
