News: A 2-Minute Walk Can Save Your Life
All those negative health effects of sitting – the increased risk of heart disease, diabetes, premature death, and more – might be offset by a simple two-minute walk each hour, according to new research from the University of Utah School of Medicine.

The study used activity monitors to follow more than 3,200 people over three years, and found that swapping two minutes of sitting for two minutes of light activity each hour like walking, cleaning or gardening lowered the risk of premature death by 33 percent. So how can you fit more activity into your day?
